In the midst of life

Writer's picture: Dawn OeiDawn Oei

In the midst of life, we can take a moment’s pause.

Let’s find a comfortable seat.

I welcome and accept how I am right now with no striving to work things out or fix anything, with no expectation of outcome or grasping to understand with the mind, the how or the why.

I breathe in gently through my nose and take a long and sustained breath out through the nose.

I let things be.

There is nothing to prove.

The body knows.

When I come back to my body by sensing my limbs and breathing gently - into my right arm, right leg, left leg, left arm, and sensing my pelvis, hips and spine - I can begin to connect with how it feels to be sitting here right now, in touch with the ground and with my whole being.

Seeing. Sensing. Being.

Coming home to the body.

Being open to receive.

Being open to an awareness that sees with a kind attention, compassion and curiosity.

Make space each day for yourselves. We are more than our experiences, thoughts and reactions and so much bigger than who we think we are.

We can open up to an intelligence within and find a way towards a greater connectedness with life.
